Hypersthene (HIGH-purse-theen)

…hyper meaning “extreme” or “above” and sthenos “strength”. Hypersthene is a very hard stone but with a beautiful, metallic, bronze look. The striking look of hypersthene is due to its lustrous sheen and play with colors including blacks, browns, grays and/or greens. Hypersthene, is often found in meteorites where it has become a derivative, bronzite, due to the chemical changes. There are mines across the world, including one in Macon Co., North Carolina.

Hypersthene is said to enhance self-esteem and emotional expression and is highly recommended for overcoming shyness.
